Peer Review

Cassie’s Concept word was flow. Her main focus was on the circulation users take throughout their experience in all of the spaces. She carefully places her kit of parts making sure not to obstruct the path of the users.

The first space is modeled after a waterfall. Like a stream the space constantly flows with no interruptions. Her circulation is all depicted on the ceiling of the space being sure not to interrupt paths. Consistency is also achieved by the constant use of color.

The Square space is designed considering the path an object takes traveling from source to source. The columns act as dividers for the space, and the wall privatizes the bathing quarters in a traditional sense. The ceiling yet again depicts the circulation of the space, which strengthens the overall design of the room.

The largest and final space takes shape with the idea of catch and release. In this space the two solids are situated on the ceiling to keep this space open. But the height changes in the ceiling help divide the space for the user.

I really enjoyed how Cassie utilized the ceiling space in all of the units, which I feel most designers overlook. It worked very nicely for her and it communicated her design very well.
